Jay Wachs’ life’s work has been to help companies and individuals achieve their goals and objectives. Through a series of exercises that determine the individual or group path, he assists in executing a plan that achieves the desired results and provides the necessary guidance to help his clients and employees stay on course. Jay is a seasoned marketing professional with over 30 years as a marketing, advertising and public relations manager. He has significant expertise in strategic planning, client relations, competitive intelligence analysis and sales force development and training.
Currently, Jay Wachs is the Owner and Developer of hearFARE Inc. His company creates custom internet and APP based media outlets for private businesses, government entities and non-profits worldwide. hearFARE also retrofit vintage radios and televisions for businesses. Additionally, Jay Wachs has created and developed a chain of internet-based listen at work radio stations that operate on a traditional broadcast radio platform. The brand for the station is known as “Hits” and operates in each community as a hyper-local digital media operation that includes steaming audio, archived podcasts, archived videos and content dissemination through multiple media platforms. The company has stations in Ohio, Illinois, Kansas and California. His listener base expanded from 10,000 in 2013 to over 565,000 in 2018.
Before starting hearFARE Inc, Jay was the Vice President and General Manager for Great Plains Media. He was responsible for day-to-day management of 3 radio stations, 20 full-time and 15 part-time employees and 5 separate facilities.
Throughout his career, Jay Wachs had held various management positions in the media and broadcasting industry. He served as Director of Sales for 5 radio stations in Austin, Texas as a part of Border Media Business Trust. Prior, Jay was Vice President and Market Manager for Cumulus Broadcasting in Albany, Georgia where he managed 8 radio stations and 50 full/part-time employees. Additionally, Jay worked at Clear Channel Greenville (Greenville, SC), Barnstable Broadcasting (Greenville, SC), and Radio One (Akron, OH).
Jay earned his bachelor’s degree in United States History from The Ohio State University. Currently living in Lawrence, Kansas, Jay sits on several boards including: The Lily Pad Recovery Center, Douglas Country American Red Cross, Independence Inc., Leadership Lawrence, Mt. Sinai Rehabilitative Center, and The Free Clinic. Additionally, he is active in the community as the Chairman of the Light for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Chairman of Corporate Development for The Lawrence Community Theater, and a Spokesperson for the Lawrence Humane Society and Ballard Community Services.
