Tadd Wilson is growing ShopRunner by putting tools in the hands of retailers and merchants who seek top-line expansion and superior lifetime value. On the side, he works finding, assessing, and supporting early-stage companies as a venture partner with the world’s first network-driven firm, NextGen.
Previously, he built a vertical brand and business for Arise Virtual Solutions as Vice President of Retail and e-Commerce. Arise’s platform blends crowdsourcing, brand affinity, and virtual technology to enhance customer experience across voice, email, live chat, text, and social media.
Before joining Arise, Mr. Wilson served as a director and partner at Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions (TGCS) helping tier 1 retailers at the CxO/VP level to identify and act on strategic changes in customer-facing and associate-facing technology across channels.
Prior to the formation of TGCS in 2012 from the union of IBM Retail Store Solutions (RSS) and Toshiba TEC, Mr. Wilson served RSS as a senior managing consultant and as a pure strategist, driving new market entry, product strategy, acquisitions and partnerships, market intelligence and analyst relations.
RSS recruited Mr. Wilson from IBM Strategy and Change, where as a managing consultant he led a global growth initiative focused on Asia-Pac and served commercial, military, and internal clients in Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America.
His work for Toshiba and IBM took him to six continents and drove over $150 million in solutions sales.
In the social sector, Mr. Wilson helped launch a national non-profit organization focused on civic literacy; served as an aide to a former cabinet minister/ambassador; and directed a public policy fellowship. He was fortunate to collaborate with Vice President Al Gore’s Reinventing Government initiative, the office of Majority Leader Dick Armey, and economics Nobel laureate Vernon Smith.
He earned his MBA from UVA’s Darden School and his BA from UNC-Chapel Hill. He has been a guest lecturer at Harvard, and visiting executive lecturer at Darden.
