Pauline Brown is a long-time leader in the luxury goods sector. She has spent her entire career acquiring, growing and leading premium global brands. Most recently, she held the role as the Chairman of North America for LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world’s leading luxury goods company, where she provided regional leadership for 70 brands in 5 sectors including fashion & leather goods, perfumes & cosmetics, watches & jewelry, wines & spirits and selective retail. While in this role, she was on the board of several LVMH subsidiaries including Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs and Fresh Cosmetics.
Prior to LVMH, Pauline was a managing director at The Carlyle Group, a global private equity firm, where she specialized in global buyouts in the consumer and retail sectors. She came to Carlyle from Avon Products, Inc. Here, she was Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Global Business Development. She was responsible for developing the company’s short- and long-term growth strategies, planning and executing key components of its turnaround plan, launching new business initiatives and driving all external opportunities – including acquisitions, licenses and strategic alliances.
Pauline worked for 8 years at Estee Lauder Companies Inc., where she most recently was the VP of Corporate Strategy and New Business Development, responsible for all M&A and licensing efforts. Prior to Estee Lauder, she was a Management Consultant for Bain & Company, a global management consultancy headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
Since 2013, Pauline has been a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, a program that seeks to develop the next generation of community-spirited leaders. She also joined the Board of Overseers of the Henry Crown Fellowship Program. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Parsons School of Design, Urban Zen Foundation and Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group. She was formerly a Board member for the National Retail Federation, Cosmetic Executive Women and Pioneer Works Center for Art and Innovation.
Pauline Brown earned her M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and her B.A. from Dartmouth College. She is a member of both schools’ Executive Alumni Councils.
Pauline is actively showcasing her idea of “Aesthetic Intelligence.” Since she stepped away executive leadership, she has transitioned to Thought Leadership.
