Doug Schmidt is a senior technology executive with a proven track record of developing and translating business strategies into scalable digital products and Internet scale platform architectures. He is a recognized leader of digital transformation in education and media industries. He possesses a deep expertise in software engineering, big data and analytics, web application development, enterprise architecture, enterprise business systems, content, media delivery, and advertising platforms.
Currently, Mr. Schmidt is the Chief Information Officer, Americas for Dentsu Aegis Network. He is responsible for Information Technology across the Americas Region which includes application development, core platforms, technology architecture, data, media systems, enterprise applications, network, and infrastructure. He works tirelessly to drive performance, agility, and speed for the business through technology.
Prior to Dentsu Aegis Network, Mr. Schmidt worked for Pearson PLC, holding Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Chief Information Security Officer roles over his time there. Before Pearson, he was Vice President of Technology at CBS Interactive, Inc., and before that, he was CTO of BizBase, Small Business Banking Division for JPMorgan Chase.
Mr. Schmidt is an active advisor for a variety of companies. Currently, he is an advisor for 121nexus, VektorTek / SiLO, SerialBox.com, and SkootandDoodle.com. He also holds 2 patents and speaks Spanish and English. Mr. Schmidt earned his B.S. in Computer Science from Siena College.
