Pat Toole is a high-performing Executive with 33 years at IBM. Since joining IBM in 1984, Mr. Toole has held a variety of executive and management positions in technology, manufacturing, engineering, information systems, marketing and sales.
In October 2015, Pat Toole was announced in his new role, Senior Integration Executive, The Weather Company. This coincided with IBM’s acquisition of The Weather Company’s product and technology businesses in order to accelerate the Watson IoT strategy.
In March of 2015, at the launch of the Internet of Things business unit, Pat was named General Manager, Internet of Things. IBM committed $3 billion over four years, to building a cloud-based open platform designed to help clients and ecosystem partners build IoT industry solutions. IBM has been a pioneer in IoT, starting with its work on the Smarter Planet initiative in 2008.
Previously Mr. Toole was General Manager of System z, General Manager of Technology Support Services, global Vice President and Chief Information Officer of IBM, General Manager of IBM Intellectual Property, General Manager of Engineering and Technology Services and General Manager of Industrial Sector Solutions.
Since joining IBM in 1984, Mr. Toole has held a variety of executive and management position in technology, manufacturing, engineering, information systems, marketing, and sales, including his role as senior site executive of IBM Charlotte in North Carolina.
Mr. Toole holds a master’s degree in business administration from Queens University of Charlotte. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and serves on the university’s College of Engineering advisory council. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Business Council of New York, Unshattered, St. Joseph High School in Trumball, CT and the Center for Ignatian Spirituality of Fairfield University.
