Denver native Kim Carver is a veteran of the television and broadcasting industry, having successfully launched, grown and managed a myriad of international television networks and sports programming ventures, starting at STAR Television in Hong Kong in 1991. In 1995, she accepted a new role as the program manager for GALAXY Television’s Premier Sports Network in Sydney, Australia, establishing herself as one of the top managers in the sports broadcasting industry while launching several FOX networks under the FOXTEL banner and later taking the reins of Main Event Television as the network’s general manager.
She was tapped vice president of network presentation for ESPN STAR Sports in Singapore in 2004 before returning to the United States in 2006 to launch The Mtn. – MountainWest Sports Network. Carver and her team had the task of taking a pioneering concept of creating the first television network dedicated to a single college athletic conference and launching it in the span of six weeks. The Mtn. premiered on September 1, 2006. In November of 2011, Carver was once again on the move, this time to Altitude Sports and Entertainment as their President and CEO.
In July of 2013, she was also named the President and CEO of the World Fishing Network, running two networks concurrently. In January 2015, Carver left her role at Altitude Sports and the World Fishing Network to spend time with her family and then launch her own endeavor. She remains hard at work on The Leading Network. Carver was named one of Broadcasting and Cable’s “Women In The Game” in May of 2013 and also one of Sports Business Journal’s “Game Changers” in September of 2013. She served on the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame’s board from January 2012 until January 2016 and was their Chairman from June 2014, to June 2015.
She has also served on the Red Rocks Community Foundation Board since May of 2013 and on the Colorado Public Television Board since December of 2016. She’s a member of the Denver Wise Women group, she is very involved with WICT as a mentor and speaker and served as the Co-Chair for the Silent Auction for the Women’s Success Forum through the Leadership Investment in 2015. Carver has been the keynote speaker and panel speaker for many events throughout the Denver area.
