Jason Gartner is an exceptional leader that combines business, strategy, and technology. Jason is currently the Vice President of Aspera at IBM, which enables organizations to move, share, and synchronize large files and data sets, digital assets, and media quickly and securely. Jason is also the Vice President of Interaction Services Development for IBM. Interaction Services is a new tier of services emerging at the edge of the enterprise. This tier is being driven by the transformation into the digital era. Developers are composing, writing code, connecting to pipelines of data and integrating APIs (application program interfaces) for use within new systems of engagement. These APIs are backed by microservices that require capabilities to create, deploy, manage and enforce the availability of these services. Jason owns the development and client engineering of these capabilities for IBM in products such as API Connect, DataPower, StrongLoop and Bluemix Runtimes.
Prior to his current roles at IBM, Jason held various other management positions across many different sectors in the company. He was VP of Development for IBM Websphere Application Platform, VP of Product Line Management IBM Pure Systems, Director of Java Technologies, Acquisition Due Diligence Lead, and other high-level management roles. During these roles, Jason managed up to 1200+ developers, built new product and market from the ground up, led marketing initiatives, managed product lines, was responsible for worldwide technology development, and managed a plethora of successful projects during his tenure.
Jason is a graduate of the University of Toronto and the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. He holds a B.S. in Engineering Physics and his Masters of Engineering, Software Engineering.
